Graphite Electrode Products
Graphite electrode is mainly used for steel-making in electric furnace, mineral hot furnace and electric resistance furnace.

a

Graphite electrodes are manufactured with high quality raw materials including petroleum cokes, needle cokes and coal tar pitch through the production processes of calcining, crushing, screening, dosing, kneading, extruding, baking, impregnation, graphitization, machining. Our products are characterized by superior compact structure, good electrical and thermal conductivity, high mechanical.

strength and high resistance to oxidation and corrosion in high temperature. The graphite electrodes are widely used in electric arc furnaces and ladle refining furnaces for steel making and used in electric smelting furnaces for producing industrial silicon, yellow phosphorus, corundum, nonmetals and so on, it is one essential part of the raw material industry.

Electrodes with pre-set nipples are packed in wooden crates, nipples and threads are protected from mechanical damage by shields made of plywood, nipples also can be packed in wooden cases with cardboards partition as per customer's requirements. Packages outside are braced strongly with steel strip with inner plastic preventing water and dust to be seaworthy shipping.

Use of Graphite Electrodes
1. Refer to the Current-Carrying Capacity of Electrodes to determine whether the diameter and grade of raphite electrodes are suitable for electric arc furnaces.
2. The graphite electrodes must be kept away from getting damped or wetted by rain, snow and water when transported and stored. Otherwise, be sure to dry them up before use
3. During loading, unloading and transportation, the graphite electrodes must be handled with great ?care to well protect the threads from being damaged in case of collision. It is better to use special hoist equipment to prevent the graphite electrodes being spoiled when been slant-hoisting.
4. Before the new electrodes are connected to the nipples, it is necessary to blow the electrode threads completely clean with compressed air and lost and damaged pitch plugs must be replaced.
5. When elevating the electrodes, it is not allowed to move in order to avoid the nipple split.
6. The grip must not hold the electrode near the area of nipple sockets.
7. Stuffing the furnace, put the coarse scrap steel lumps at the bottom and the small ones at the ?top. The electrodes should be lifted at times according to the smelting conditions to avoid being broken off by collapses.
